Same playbook. Your side of the table.
Personal injury and workers' compensation representation across Kansas and Missouri. Two attorneys with 30-plus years of total experience in these fields — and every case handled personally by both of us. No fee unless we recover.

Terry Law, LLC is a two-attorney practice serving the Kansas City metro. Following law school, we initially defended insurance companies and employers — learning exactly how claims get evaluated, where files get stuck, and which mistakes leave carriers exposed.
Today we put that knowledge to work for injured people. We take on personal injury and workers' compensation matters, and every case is handled by both of us personally. Clients speak with an attorney, not a case manager. Our aim is to maximize the value of your case, rather than seeking out a volume of cases.

Matthew brings his insurance defense and workers' compensation defense experience — the same carrier-side vantage point, now applied for injured workers and their families.
A denied claim or a closed file isn't always the end of the story. When a case has been turned down or undervalued, a slower, more careful review will sometimes uncover a path forward — one a busier firm didn't have time to find.
Years of defending insurers and employers taught us where claims go wrong from the inside — missed deadlines, unreasonable denials, failure to investigate. When those mistakes happen, Kansas and Missouri law can hold carriers responsible beyond the policy itself.
If you don't see your situation listed, call or text anyway. Many of the cases we work on don't fit a tidy category.
On-the-job injuries, denied claims, disputed medical treatment, third-party liability where someone other than your employer is responsible.
When an insurer's mishandling of a claim — auto, homeowners, disability, comp — exposes them to liability beyond their policy limit.
Car, truck, and motorcycle collisions. Underinsured-motorist disputes, uninsured-driver claims, complex multi-party accidents.
Slip-and-fall, inadequate security, dangerous property conditions — residential and commercial, in Kansas and Missouri.
Compassionate, careful representation for families of those killed by negligence — work fatalities, vehicle collisions, premises failures.
Claim denials, delayed payments, and disputed coverage across auto, homeowners, disability, and workers' compensation policies.
Names, dates, and identifying facts are changed. Outcomes are real. These are examples chosen to show the kinds of cases that benefit most from a second look.
Our client suffered injuries to her left leg. The driver who hit her carried only $25,000 in coverage — but the insurer’s mishandling of the claim opened the door to far more. We recovered $5 million.
One of our client’s employees was injured during a company retreat, and the business’s insurer refused to cover it. Working alongside the owner, we proved the denial was not only wrong but knowing. Both the business owner and the injured employee recovered substantial settlements.
A young adult living with mental illness was killed while riding his bicycle. When the insurer denied coverage under a $25,000 policy, we proved the denial was made in bad faith and recovered $1.5 million for his estate on behalf of his parent.
In a wrongful death action, the insurance carrier mishandled the claim file. We represented the insured, who recovered a portion of the wrongful death proceeds as a result.
After a car crash left our client needing hip surgery, the insurer offered less than 10 percent of what the claim ultimately settled for. We recovered $725,000.
We represented the estate of a man killed following a bar fight. The insurer tried to shield itself from liability and failed to disclose several policies. We uncovered them — so several injured parties could receive additional compensation.
Our client underwent a cervical fusion at C5–C7 after a car crash. The insurer’s first offer was less than 5 percent of the final settlement, and it hadn’t disclosed the policy limits or an excess policy. We recovered $700,000.
A dog attacked our client after the local animal control agency had been on notice that the dog was dangerous. The agency denied all liability and offered $10,000 before trial. In one of the first — if not the first — cases against the agency to reach a jury, the verdict totaled $250,000 with interest, fees, and costs. Following the verdict, the agency’s director and other leadership stepped down, and it lost its animal-control contract with the City. The case has paved the way for further claims.
Our client had little medical treatment, but compelling testimony about what she saw. We recovered $325,000 on her post-traumatic stress claim.
Our client hit his head at work and kept working, reporting and treating the injury later. His claim was denied because of the delay. At formal hearing, we won more than $41,000 plus funds set aside for future medical treatment.
Past results do not guarantee future outcomes. Every case is evaluated on its own facts and circumstances. Settlement amounts shown are gross recoveries before attorney fees, costs, and lien resolution.
